Major steps are being taken to further strengthen the arrangements in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. About 50 new priests will soon be recruited in Ram temple. This recruitment process is aimed to be completed before the darshan system starts in the sub-temples.

Ayodhya Ram Temple: In view of the increasing number of devotees and opening of new sub-temples in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple located in Ayodhya, the administration has planned to recruit priests. With the aim of further strengthening the arrangements in the temple premises, about 50 new priests will be recruited soon. This step has been taken to ensure that the process of darshan and worship can be conducted easily, smoothly and as per the traditional rules.

Increasing number of devotees and preparation of sub-temples

So far, 20 priests are working in the Ram temple, who apart from the main Ramlala and Ram Darbar, are handling the worship in the other six sub-temples located in the complex, Yagya Mandapam, Sapta Mandapam, and Kubereshwar Mahadev Temple located in Kuber Tila. In view of the continuous increase in the number of devotees and expansion of darshan system in the temple premises, the need for additional priests has been felt.

The purpose of the new appointments is to ensure regular and systematic worship in all the sub-temples, and to provide easy facilities to the devotees coming for darshan.

Nature and responsibilities of new recruitment

The priests selected under the recruitment process will be well versed in Vedic traditions and will be assigned work as per the religious norms and traditions of Ram Temple. Notably, active darshan arrangements in the seven sub-temples of Ram temple require 42 priests in three shifts and both morning and evening shifts.

These priests will be able to perform duty for eight hours or more. Additionally, 8 additional priests are required to man the Sapta Mandapam and Kuber Tila from 7 am to 7 pm. Thus, in total, immediate recruitment of at least 50 new priests in the temple premises is necessary, so that the puja and darshan experience for the visiting devotees remains streamlined and spiritually enriching.
